Dr. Hazem Abdelhady is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at Texas A&M University, where he leads the Aggie Coastal Intelligence & Sustainability (CIS) Lab. His research integrates coastal and hydrodynamic modeling, remote sensing, and machine learning to advance the understanding and prediction of environmental changes in oceanic, lake, and coastal systems.

He earned his Ph.D. from Purdue University, where he pursued dual majors in Civil Engineering and Computational Engineering, along with a postgraduate certificate in Geospatial Information Science.

Aabeer is a Ph.D. student in the Aggie CIS Lab with a research focus on coastal dynamics and sustainability. He completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Before starting his Ph.D., he worked as a lecturer in the Department of Water Resources Engineering at BUET. For his M.Sc thesis, he explored the settling behavior of non-spherical microplastics in turbulent open-channel flow. He also worked on several other projects related to flood risk mapping and forecasting, coastal erosion, sediment transport, and shoreline dynamics.

When he is not working, Aabeer enjoys traveling and playing basketball.

Md.Tawhidur Rahaman

Md. Tawhidur Rahaman is a Ph.D. student in the Aggie CIS Lab with a research focus on surrogate modeling for coastal processes and wave dynamics. He earned a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and an M.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering from Bangladesh, where his academic training focused on hydrodynamics, coastal processes, and environmental systems. Before joining TAMU, he had over a decade of experience in environmental and water resources engineering, having contributed to projects supported by the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Danish International Development Agency (Danida), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), and the Gates Foundation. He is also a Beahrs Environmental Leadership Program Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, and an UNLEASH Global Talent.
